This 36″ square lap quilt in the spools pattern is well pieced and has a pleasing colour balance. The quilting pattern is Anne Bright’s Origami Fan design which is done with a gold coloured cotton thread. The fan pattern gives a pleasing texture to the design. Doesn’t it look nice?
Nancy brought this quilt to me for an edge to edge design. Considering the floral theme to the top and backing, I selected the design called Iris, which I believe is by Deb Geissler. This is the first time I have used this design and I like how it turned out. A lovely fresh quilt that will be wonderful for snuggling.
This lovely heart themed quilt was made from Kay’s scraps. Her granddaughter Sophia helped by selecting her preferred fabrics. Sophia also chose the backing, a pink-toned Japanese fabric from Lecien Textiles. Sophia chose Warm and Plush as the batting because she wanted a snuggly quilt.
The quilting design is called Rambling Hearts, a pattern from Australian designer, Keryn Emmerson. The thread is a deep pink tri-lobal polyester that gives a nice sheen to the quilting. Sophia is going to love this cuddly lap quilt!
Jean made this delightfully bright frog quilt for her grandson. The fabulous background fabric looks just like seaweed!
The quilting pattern is a frog border pattern that I adjusted to add reeds and cattails to make a full pattern. The thread is a lime green cotton covered poly. The batting is Warm and Natural.
Her grandson will be thrilled with this quilt!
